The Aachen Lacquer Shield Owl pigeon is a breed of domesticated fancy pigeon. It is also known as Aachen Shield Owl pigeon. The breed was originated from Germany. It is a small sized breed with very beautiful appearance. It is mainly plain-headed and is clean legged. The beak is short and appears similar to that of the Old Dutch Turbit. These pigeons have a relatively small neck frill and also a gullet. The eyes are dark and the cere is of light color. It appears in a few color varieties, and said to be only black red and yellow.
African Owl Pigeon: The African Owl pigeon is a breed of domestic fancy pigeon. It was originated in Tunisia. This breed and other varieties of domesticated pigeons, all are descendants from the feral or wild rock pigeon. It is also known as Foreign Owl. The African Owl pigeon is well known for it’s short beak, which gives the breed the ‘Owl‘ name due to the size and shape. These birds should have a very ball-shaped head, which these birds carry held back above a thrust out chest. They have a crest of feathers running down the front of their breast. This crest of feathers is called the jabot, and also known as a tie or cravat. Their body is short and plump, the head is smooth and unadorned with rough feathers. Their beak is short and stout and turned down in shape.
